Bikinis cause increase in car wrecks
News San Diego, California - Mark McCullough, a 19-year veteran with the San Diego Police Department and spokesman for its busy traffic division, says fender-benders and other non-fatal collisions rise by about 25% during beach season, which starts in May and continues through the end of summer at the popular beach city. Officer McCullough says most are caused by men watching women. “We get an influx of college kids and tourists to the beach areas during these times, and the accidents climb,” he says. “It’s often young guys who, after we talk to them and prod a little, will admit they were eyeing an attractive brunette or good-looking blonde in a little bikini.” More

Calls for beating Saudi women drivers
Saudia Arabia - A campaign has been launched on Facebook calling for men to beat Saudi women who drive their cars in a planned protest next month against the ultra-conservative kingdom’s ban on women taking the wheel. The call comes as activists are demanding the release of Manal al-Sharif, a Saudi woman who was jailed for defying the ban. The page, titled “The Iqal Campaign: June 17 for preventing women from driving,” refers to the Arabic name for the cord used to hold on the traditional headdress worn by many men in the Gulf, advocating the cord be used to hit women who dare to drive. It has drawn over 6,000 “likes” on the popular social networking website. More
NASCAR driver does 128 mph in a 45 mph zone
North Carolina - Sure, it’s his job to drive fast. But even Kyle Busch is not allowed to drive 83 miles an hour over the speed limit. The 26-year-old NASCAR superstar was test driving a new Lexus when he gave it a little too much gas near his hometown of Mooresville, N.C. “I was test-driving a new sports car and I got carried away,” Busch said. “I went beyond the speed I should have been going on a public road. I apologize to the public, my fans, sponsors, and race teams for my lack of judgment.” Busch was stopped driving between Troutman and Mooresville, about 30 miles north of Charlotte. More

Willow, Jaden & MJ's Kids -- Superstar Children Unite
It was a meeting of the A-list celebuspawn as Michael Jackson's three kids (Paris, Prince and Blanket) hung out with Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith's children, Willow and Jaden Smith, on an L.A. film set the other day.
The Jackson kids arrived to the set with their grandmother, Katherine Jackson. So far, it's unclear if the kids were on the set to act ... or just to hang out with the Smiths.
As we previously reported, the Jackson kids have expressed a serious interest in Hollywood -- earlier this year, Prince told "Good Morning America" he was "looking at a couple of opportunities in show business ... mostly producing."Willow, Jaden & MJ's Kids -- Superstar Children Unite

Charlie Sheen Borrows $10 Mil From Warner Bros.
Charlie Sheen -- who scored the biggest paycheck in TV before getting the boot -- had to borrow a huge amount of money from Warner Bros. during his last season on "Two and a Half Men."
TMZ has obtained Charlie's contract for Season 7 (2010 - 2011). The document -- dated May 17, 2010 -- requires Warner Bros. to pay Charlie $10 million within 10 days of the date Charlie signed. Charlie was then obligated to pay the money back during the first 13 episodes.
To repay the loan, Sheen -- who was getting a base pay of $1.25 million a show -- had $769,230.77 deducted from each paycheck for the first 13 episodes. But then there's this pesky issue of interest. Under the deal, the interest -- calculated at the prime commercial rate -- would be deducted from the 14th paycheck.
Charlie was fired after the 16th episode, so Warner Bros. got its $$$ back.
As for why Charlie needed the money ... unclear. With his profit participation, Charlie was raking in more than $2 million an episode, but it seems he was still burning a hole in his pocket.
On the bright side for Charlie, he was doing really well. We got a copy of his original contract, and in Season 1, he made $160,000 an episode, and under the original deal he only got a 4% raise for additional seasons. That contract was renegotiated after the show became successful..Charlie Sheen Borrows $10 Mil From Warner Bros.

Gas repeat offenders get one-day bus suspensions
Columbus, Ohio - Two Canal Winchester Middle School students were booted off the school bus for passing gas. James Nichols and Kristine Kuzora are upset that their son’s flatulence was designated as an obscene gesture by school officials. Their 13-year-old son and another boy were on the school bus when they both experienced an emission. Children being children, the flatulence apparently caused a ruckus on the bus amid a flurry of laughs, jeers and lowering of windows. The bus driver had warned the boys a few weeks ago after another joint gas attack, so they apparently were designated repeat offenders and handed one-day bus suspensions. More
