Man jailed for urinating on woman during flight

HONOLULU – A 28-year-old man has been sentenced to three weeks in jail for urinating on a 66-year-old woman during a Continental Airlines flight last month from Los Angeles to Honolulu. Jerome Kenneth Kingzio, a resident of the U.S. Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, was sentenced after pleading guilty Tuesday to assault charges in federal court in Honolulu.
The victim was headed to Hawaii on March 21 for a scuba diving vacation and was watching an in-flight movie when Kingzio stood up and began urinating on her. He had been drinking on the flight.
U.S. Attorney Edward Kubo Jr. said the woman reported that not only was her entire vacation ruined, but she continues to suffer emotionally from the incident.
The case was investigated by the FBI.

Stupid News-Man jailed for taking 50 cents 24 years ago

PATNA, India (Reuters) – An Indian court sentenced a 75-year-old doctor to jail for accepting half a dollar as a bribe nearly a quarter of a century ago, officials said Wednesday.
India's federal police caught Balgovind Prasad accepting 25 rupees (51 cents) from a sweeper in 1985 for issuing a fake medical certificate, police said.
The case dragged on for years and Prasad was convicted in 1992 and given a one-year jail term. He was freed as he appealed the sentence.
Tuesday, a higher court in India's eastern state of Bihar state reduced the one-year term to three months, saying the bribe amount was too small, but directed the police to take Prasad into custody as he was guilty of the crime.
"The case was also dragging and the bribe money was too small, so Prasad thought he would get a reprieve from the court," prosecution lawyer Vipin Kumar Sinha told reporters after the verdict. "But all the charges has been proved against him."
Indian justice is often delivered at a glacial pace and a case can drag for decades with endless hearings.

Odd News-Singaporeans jailed for kangaroo T-shirts in court

SINGAPORE (Reuters) – Three Singaporeans were jailed on Thursday after being charged with contempt of court for showing up at Singapore's Supreme Court wearing T-shirts depicting kangaroos in judges robes.
Isrizal Bin Mohamed Isa and Muhammad Shafi'ie Syahmi Bin Sariman were sentenced to seven days' jail, while Tan Liang Joo John received 15 days imprisonment. They were each ordered to pay S$5,000 (2,147 pounds) in costs.
Tan is the Assistant Secretary-General of the opposition Singapore Democratic Party, led by Chee Soon Juan.
The three had worn the T-shirts at a court hearing in May to determine the damages that Chee Soon Juan and his sister Chee Siok Chin were to pay after being found guilty of defaming Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and former leader Lee Kuan Yew.
Singapore's attorney-general said in bringing the case to court the trio had "scandalised the Singapore judiciary."
Singapore bans gatherings and protests in all public areas without a permit except Speakers' Corner, the country's equivalent of the historic free-speech haven in London's Hyde Park.

Girl raped after being jailed with 21 men-Brazil

Duh! You Put a 15 years old girl where? In jail with 21 men!
Brazil — A 15-year-old girl arrested on petty theft charges was left for weeks in a jail cell with 21 men, who raped her, tortured her and only allowed her food in exchange for sex.
Her screams could be heard from the street. Yet police refused to act, and it took a tip to the local media to finally free her.
Ten police and prison officials and two inmates face up to 20 years in jail if convicted, and a verdict in the trial is expected this month. But nearly a year after the crime, the most shocking element is how normal the girl’s plight seems to many in the sweltering river port city of 78,000 at the mouth of the Amazon where she was imprisoned......article

Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick Of Detroit Jailed-Will be Charged with assaulting an officer

**** Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick Will Be Charged With Assaulting An Officer*******
Mayor Kwame in Detroit sex scandal case ordered jailed
DETROIT, Michigan (AFP) — The mayor of Detroit, Michigan, embroiled for months in a torrid sex scandal, was placed under arrest Thursday for violating a provision of his bond forbidding him from leaving the country.
A Detroit judge ordered embattled Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick jailed for a recent unauthorized trip he made to nearby Windsor, Canada, violating the terms of his bond.
His jailing seemed certain to ramp up efforts to force his resignation, which he so far has stubbornly resisted.
"I thought I made it clear to you that this court comes first in everything," Wayne County District Court Judge Ronald Giles told the beleaguered mayor in court shortly before ordering him detained.
For his part, the scandal-plagued mayor pleaded in court for another chance, explaining that he had made the unauthorized trip on city business.
"I don't believe that there is a person that's ever been through this process that respects it more than I do," Kilpatrick said, referring to the stress he has found himself under during months of legal proceedings.
Kilpatrick was indicted in March for lying under oath about an affair with his chief of staff and firing a police officer investigating reports of a wild party at the mayor's mansion.
All told, he faces eight felony counts ranging from conspiracy to perjury to misconduct in office to obstruction of justice.
The charges were filed after Kilpatrick abruptly instructed the city to settle a wrongful dismissal lawsuit by three police officers who said they were fired while investigating wrongdoing by the mayor and his security personnel.
Kilpatrick and former chief of staff Christine Beatty have been charged with perjury, obstruction of justice and misconduct in office.
The officers were awarded 8.4 million dollars after being sacked for investigating rumors that the mayor's wife interrupted a stripper party about six years ago at the mayor's office, local media reported.
Prosecutors accused Kilpatrick of obstruction of justice for settling the whistle-blower lawsuit in order to hide text message evidence of his affair.
Officials said Thursday that Kilpatrick would remain in jail until he either posts the full 75,000 dollars bond, or until his defense attorneys succeed in persuading a circuit court judge to overturn the decision.
